Meet The Team
Graduating from Kings College Hospital London in 1984, Dr Sharma became a full time General Practitioner in 1990.
For the first eight years of her GP career, Dr Sharma worked solely in the NHS, before starting her own private practice within BMI The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor in 1998. Dr Sharma was the first to take Private General Practice into a BMI Hospital and continued to work in both the NHS and privately until 2012.
With a patient-led outlook and the desire to prioritise patients’ well-being and ease of treatment, Dr Sharma decided to go exclusively private in 2012. Private practice is the ideal setting for Dr Sharma to pursue her passion of treating patients holistically. Consultations are available six days a week at the Princess Margaret Hospital, providing a comprehensive health service for families and individuals.
The General Medical Council keeps a register of all licensed medical doctors.
Dr. Francesco Lo Monaco completed his medical qualification, with honours, from the University of Pavia Medical School in Italy, in 1997.
In 2003 he finished his cardiology training (summa cum Laude) in Milan and later, went on to work as a Consultant Cardiologist in Milan until 2006 before moving to New York to complete a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cardiology at the New York Medical College.
During that time, he published my research in cardiac stem cells, presenting the results at the American Heart Association Meeting in Orlando in 2008.
An associate member of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr. Lo Monaco has appointed as Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology and Undergraduate Tutor by Imperial College School of Medicine.
Dr. Lo Monaco’s specialism is in Clinical Cardiology with a subspecialty in imaging. He is able to treat a wide range of cardiovascular diseases such as ischemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias and valvular heart disease.
Additionally, he can perform diagnostic tests ranging from ECG, echocardiogram, exercise tolerance tests, dobutamine stress tests, 24 h ECG Holter and blood pressure monitoring and CT coronary angiograms.
With years of experience in cardiology, he provides a wide variety of services to his patients from his London clinics while also delivering lectures and producing ground-breaking research.

Professor Asim Islam is the Medical Director and Lead GP of a celebrated and successful private practice in prestigious Harley Street. He is a graduate of Cambridge University where he trained at the highly reputable Addenbrookes Hospital and is a visiting Associate Professor of Medicine at AIMST university Bedong Malaysia. He is a General Practitioner with over twenty years’ experience, both as a Partner and as an Out of Hours GP.
Dr Islam has a broad range of clinical experience at surgeries and Out of Hours where he has performed regular face to face consultations, triage and home visiting. He is a qualified GP trainer and is responsible for clinical training of registrars, nurse practitioners and medical students. As well as attaining a PhD in Mathematics with medical applications to Neuroscience from Royal Holloway and an MSc in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College London, he held a two-year Templeton Research Fellowship in Cambridge and has published research in Mathematics and the Physics of Neuroscience.
Professor Islam also has several years of experience in health screening and wellness assessment in addition to dealing complex , acute and chronic medical conditions.
Dr Atessa Assim – Consultant Dermatologist, Born in Germany with Iranian heritage, Dr Assim graduated from Philipps-University of Marburg in 1979, earning summa cum laude for her dissertation on Blaschko lines. Her early career included two years in anaesthesiology, followed by six months in internal medicine, and experience alongside plastic and aesthetic surgeons in Düsseldorf. She developed her expertise in dermatology at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and worked in a laser-specialised clinic, focusing on aesthetic dermatology. Her surgical experience includes performing excisions and reconstructions for various skin cancers, managing chemotherapy patients, and maintaining a broad dermatology practice.
She achieved the title of Specialist in Dermatology and Venereology after completing her specialist training in Germany, along with an additional subspecialty in allergology. Over the past 15 years, she has practiced across more than 15 NHS trusts in the UK, including notable hospitals, which has enhanced her clinical insights and patient care and now sees select private patients. Throughout her diverse clinical career, she has remained committed to evidence-based, patient-centred care, emphasizing individualised treatment plans and patient safety.
Ketan Amin was awarded his BPharm (Hons) degree from The School of Pharmacy, University of London 1996. Thereafter, he qualified as a pharmacist having completed his registration training with Boots the Chemist. In 1999-2000, he attended the School of Management at the University of Bath to complete his MBA.
He has worked within Community Pharmacy throughout his career. His passion and ambition have always focused on developing and integrating the role of community pharmacy in provision of patient services delivered direct to the communities they serve. He has practiced pharmacy for both independently owned pharmacies, regional groups and larger national chains. As Professional Services Manager for Pharmacy Alliance/UniChem (now Alliance Healthcare), he engaged with and brought together pharmaceutical industry with local healthcare authorities in developing and delivering patient focused services through Community Pharmacy. He has extensive experience of the pharmacy contract and service development, and in 2005, as the strategic and contractual landscape changed significantly, he was instrumental in developing a range of support to assist independent pharmacy owners across England and Wales to successfully navigate these changes.
Ketan has held the role as Operations Director for PillBox Chemists Ltd for over 15 years, having supported the growth of the group from 9 pharmacies to over 25 pharmacies across the South East of England, employing over 200 staff. He is a key part of the company’s strong management team and overseas a wide range of areas including pharmacy operations, training and development and regulatory compliance. He also serves as one of the company’s Superintendent Pharmacists. He routinely interacts with NHS England, Pharmacy Regulators and is currently an elected member of the Thames Valley Local Pharmaceutical Committee. He is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. He is also the CQC Registered Manager for Harley Street Medical.
Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering his time, coaching and managing his children’s football and hockey teams. He also enjoys playing both sports himself and, when he can, will try to fit in a round of golf too! He is an avid supporter of Manchester United Football Club, having been a club member for over 25 years.
Davinder Virdee qualified as a pharmacist in 1988 with a Masters Honours Degree after completing his training in Hospital and community Pharmacy. In 1989 he completed is MBA and worked for a number of National Pharmacy groups including Boots and Lloyds as a pharmacist lead with responsibility for restructuring failing branches and helping build strong teams in multi-site locations. Whilst gaining experience of the healthcare sector he worked as a small business consultant advising businesses on strategic decisions and future planning.
He is the owner and superintendent Pharmacist of PillBox Chemists Group one of the largest private community pharmacy groups in the south of England. He has built up the group strategically over the last 27 years with pharmacies in local communities and health centres with a focus on delivering healthcare in local communities. The group now employs 200 staff including pharmacists with a strong management team based at their head office in Colnbrook.
Davinder has served on several pharmacy sector industry groups as well as forums and is currently a elected member of CPSE Local Pharmaceutical Committee representing pharmacy contractors, across the whole of Hampshire and Sussex. He has previously sat on the Surrey Local Pharmaceutical Committee for several years. He is a member of the National Pharmaceutical Association, Royal Pharmaceutical Society and General Pharmaceutical Society.
He is a very experienced healthcare professional with knowledge and expertise in setting up new business ventures, business planning & strategy, operations,
human resource and development, team building and financial planning, with a focus on patient experience and satisfaction and positive outcomes. He has a detailed understanding of the healthcare sector having dealt with GP’s, NHS England, CCG’s and numerous other healthcare partners developing and also delivering healthcare services through his pharmacy group.
He is passionate about healthcare with a particular interest in preventative medicine and health screening developing key pharmacy services with a focus on lifestyle changes and education and continues to look at ways to improve and develop healthcare services in a rapidly changing environment and growth of the private sector in the UK, and how digitalisation can be used to improve patients on-going health and lead to better outcomes.
Davinder speaks fluent Punjabi and Hindi and some Swahili and enjoys playing football and squash.
Gurdeep Nanra graduated from Aston University with a Masters degree in Pharmacy in 2005. After completing her pre-registration training with the Manor Pharmacy Group in Nottingham, Gurdeep worked as a Relief Pharmacist Manager. This role gave her the experience and necessary tools to later go on to manage two of some of the busier pharmacies as part of the PillBox Group.
In 2021 Gurdeep qualified as a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber from Wolverhampton University, specialising in Hypertension. Gurdeep has been able to utilise this qualification in her current role as Head of Pharmacy Services for the PillBox Group.
With her clinical knowledge and passion for healthcare, she has been able to work in collaboration with local doctors and develop NHS and private pharmacy services in the business. In particular, she has been instrumental in launching a private blood testing service, where she has become the lead phlebotomist. Having trained up in interpreting blood tests, this has enabled Gurdeep to review and discuss results with patients and advise or make referrals when needed.
Over the next one to two years, Gurdeep will continue developing a range of specialist clinics in a select number of pharmacies including blood testing and weight management. She has played an important role in promoting and delivering corporate health checks to companies such as Alliance Healthcare and looks forward to offering this to many more businesses in the near future.
Lana is an experienced IT professional with a wide range of qualifications and expertise. She originally qualified as an Economist with a Batchelors degree from the Ivane Javakishvili State University. In the same year, she was also awarded a Batchelors degree for IT in Business at the same University.
During her studies, she undertook a course in medical equipment specialism, covering technical aspects of medical equipment management such as scanning and laser techniques. In addition, she was awarded a placement with the Georgian Healthcare Ministry supporting the IT infrastructure for over 300 employees. In 2003, she undertook and completed further training covering IT hardware support.
Lana’s enthusiasm and passion for IT did not stop there. In 2004, she achieved a diploma in Web Development, whilst practising at the Georgian Foreign Press Association. She has developed her web development skills through online google marketing with expertise in online advertising, google ads and search engine optimisation (SEO).
Lana is an integral member of the Harley Street Medical team, ensuring all aspects of the company’s IT infrastructure are maintained and optimised to ensure service efficiency, data integrity and security.

Daisy has been in various customer-facing roles for over 10 years.
Beginning her journey as a Redcoat at Butlin’s Bognor Regis, her role was very customer focused ensuring that all the families that visited the resort enjoyed their stay.
In 2017, Daisy moved to Berkshire to join the LEGOLAND team in Windsor as Hotel Duty Manager. Her attention to detail was recognised by directors, as she ensured the Health and Safety, Management of KPI’s and Guest Journeys in the hotel and on park; were all to the expectation of the guests and business.
Daisy joined Foxhills Golf Club as Assistant Restaurant Manager in 2019, once again her role focused on ensuring excellent customer experience. Along with her team, they improved the restaurant’s KPI scores and drove sales for their best year since opening. She received a nomination in 2021 for Food and Beverage Manager of the year awarded by the 59 club.
Since joining medical sector at Pillbox Chemists, Daisy her used her knowledge and experience of customer facing roles, to focus on delivering an excellent service to patients. She has closely involved with the medical team with booking and delivering the following services: Flu season, Winter Health Checks, Corporate Health Checks, Fit to Fly tests and opening Covid vaccination clinics. She has gained much knowledge with the range of services that we offer.
Daisy is looking after the booking process for all our patients with Harley Street Medical.
